The ANILAM 5000M is a 3-, 4- or 5-axes plus spindle OEM-style or Kit-style control for higher performance requirements. Typical machine tool applications are knee mills, bed-mills, boring mills, bridge mills and vertical machining centers (VMC). The 5000M control uses the PC-DSP Dual Processor hardware platform. The 5000M control features large color screens with draw graphics. The 5000M also has full alphanumeric keypads. Hard disk and compact flash drives provide data storage and input. The controls have been tested and fully qualified in accordance with EMC regulations. Networking capability and offline software are available as options.

The programming format is conversational G-code, i.e. the control can be programmed either with the integrated conversational tools or direct in G-code. The tools include the conversational help utility and a wide range of typical canned cycles for milling. Also integrated is ANILAM's easy-to-use icon based CAM utility. The program is easily verified with the on-screen graphics, for simulation or while cutting.

Spindle orientation and integrated PLC functionality are standard in the 5000M, enabling control of turrets, tool changers etc. There are three additional counter inputs available in the 5000M. Alternatively, those can be used to connect up to three remote handwheels or any combination of up to two handwheels and a 6th readout axis.

The 5000M has two I/O-modules standard and four additional I/O-modules optional. Each I/O-module has 10 inputs and 6 outputs standard, controlled via CAN-bus. One output per module may be jumper selected as an analog input. M-functions are available.

ANILAM controls have extensive compensation features for automatic correction of machine errors and various offsets.
